Gradescope

What Is Gradescope?

Gradescope is a tool designed to streamline the grading of assignments and assessements. The assignments can be paper-based or online. Gradescope is particularly helpful in subjects that require students to turn in paper-based assignments or exams that call on the students to draw their answers, for example, showing work in a math problem, drawing a graph in an economics question, labeling an illustration in a science class, etc.

Gradescope is also a good solution for large classes that use bubble sheets for exam submissions.

Some notable features and functions available in Gradescope:

  • auto-grading of computer coding assignments
  • full-featured rubrics tool
  • detailed analytics
  • deliver feedback
  • regrade options
  • bubble sheet grading
  • Gradescope is integrated into Canvas (currently for ECAS courses only)
