Lucid For Education
The Lucid Suite is a comprehensive suite of visual applications designed to enhance the learning experience for students and educators alike. It combines the creative power of diagramming and design to help students understand their own thinking, actively participate in their learning, and develop crucial digital skills.
Creating A New Account
If you have never used any of the products available from Lucid Suite, you will first need to create or provision a Lucid account.
- Navigate to https://lucid.app/users/login#/login
- Enter your Emory NetID login into the field labeled 'Email or username' and press enter or hit the 'Next' button.
- The Emory Login page should be displayed. Enter your Emory NetID login credentials and hit the 'Login' button or press 'enter'.
- You should now be logged into Lucid Suite.
Connecting Your Account Through Canvas
- From within your Canvas course, click Lucid (Whiteboard) from the course navigation menu on the left-hand side.
- Click on the 'Log in' button in the lower right corner of the screen.
- Enter your Emory NetID login into the field labeled 'Email or username' and press enter or hit the 'Next' button.
- You should now be returned to your Canvas course page and be presented with the following screen:
- Click or press the 'Connect to Lucid' button.
- Once the success page has displayed, click or press 'Continue'
- You will be prompted to authorize Canvas to access your Lucid account.
- Click or press the 'Grant Access' button.
- You should now be able to use Lucid Suite from within Canvas

Enabling Lucid Suite In Your Course
If the Lucid (Whiteboard) link is missing from your course, you will have to enable it through your course settings.
- From your Canvas course, click on 'Settings' in the course navigation panel to the left.
- Click on the tab labeled 'Navigation' at the top of the Settings page.
- Scroll all the way down to the section that shows disabled navigation items near the bottom of the page until you see the entry for 'Lucid (Whiteboard)'.
- You can either drag and drop the entry into the section above that contains active course navigation links, or click on the vertical elipses (three vertical dots) to the right of the 'Lucid (Whiteboard)' entry and select '+ Enable'.
- Click the 'Save' button at the bottom of the screen.
